Kenneth C. Wolschlager  
 September 23, 1930 - October 3, 2023
Kenneth Wolschlager, age 93 of Bad Axe, went home on the wings of angels on 
Tuesday, October 3, 2023.  He was born on September 23, 1930 in Bad Axe, son of 
the late Frank and Agnes (Depcinski) Wolschlager.  He married the love of his 
life, Audrey Hessling on July 7, 1962 in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in 
Ruth.
Ken was a lifelong farmer in Sheridan Township. He was a member of St. 
Hubert/Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was an usher.  Ken joined the 
Knights of Columbus Council 1546 March 15,1973.  He was a 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th 
Degree member of Bishop Babcock Assembly in the Color Corp.  He recently 
received recognition for 50 years of dedicated service, especially dedicated to 
the tootsie roll drive.  Ken enjoyed Euchre, bowling, roller skating, and 
gardening.  Ken was known for his firm handshake and his love of sharing a bowl 
of ice cream with everyone.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Audrey Wolschlager of Bad 
Axe. 
Four sons, Frank Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Jeff Wolschlager of Bad Axe, Ken (Beth) 
Wolschlager of Owendale and Paul (Kathy) Wolschlager of Bad Axe.  Two daughters, 
Barbara (Denis) Leitch of Jackson and Nancy (Mike) Hacker of Bad Axe.  One 
brother-in-law, Dan Guigar of Bad Axe.  One sister-in-law, Lorraine Wolschlager 
of Bad Axe.  Thirteen grandchildren, Becky, Nathan, Amanda, Caroline, Curtis, 
Kayla. Tyler, Nicholas, Emma, Lilly, Austin, Mirandia, and Matthew.  Nine great-
grandchildren, Sara, Zoey, Issac, Silas, Xander, Wyatt, Evelyn, Timothy and 
Kaison.
Kenneth was preceded in death by seven brothers, Raymond, Archie, Wilmer 
(Marion), Melvin, Elgin (Mary Jane), Stanley (Josephine) and Joseph and two 
sisters, Evelyn (Henny), Ernestina (Ralph & Elmer).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 6, 2023 at 11 am at 
St. Hubert Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.  Officiating will 
be Fr. T.J. Fleming.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 
held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 3 – 8 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in 
Bad Axe or Friday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am.  A 
combined Knights of Columbus and Daughters of Isabella rosary will be offered on 
Thursday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.  Memorials may be offered to the 
family.
