Theodore A. Wrubel
September 1, 1891 – November 3, 1985
CARSONVILLE – Theodore A. Wrubel, 94, of 60 High St., died Sunday, November 3, 
1985, in McKenzie Memorial Hospital, Sandusky, after a short illness.  He was 
born September 1, 1891, in Huron County.  He married Leona Grates October 28, 
1931, in Bad Axe.  Mr. Wrubel was a mason contractor for many years in Huron 
and Sanilac counties.

He is survived by his wife; six sons, Frank, Ernest, Ken, Walter, Art and 
Marvin; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Terwilliger and Mrs. Eileen Meredith; 21 
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Palmer.  A 
daughter, Frances Dekarske, preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port 
Sanilac.  Father R.K. LeFleur, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in old 
St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visiting is from 3 to 9 p.m. today in the Carman Funeral 
Home, Carsonville.  Published unknown

Norma’s Notes:  Born in Paris Township to Paul and Agnes (Kucharczyk) Wrubel.  
First Marriage March 6, 1916 in Rapson to Martha Visga (1900-1920), daughter of 
Frank and Francis (Klama) Visga.  Children by Martha:  Frank, Frances and 
Ernest.  Actual marriage certificate shows he married Leona Samulski ‘nee 
Grates on October 28, 1930 (not 1931) in Rapson (not Bad Axe).  Children with 
Leona:  Ken, Art, Eileen and Marvin.  Step-father to Walter Samulski and Louise 
(Samulski) Terwilliger.
