Ira Donald Wrubel
January 21, 1929 - December 12, 2020
Ira D. Wrubel, 91, of Harbor Beach passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 
McLaren Port Huron Hospital.  He was born on January 21, 1929 to the late 
Michael and Mary (Mika) Wrubel.  Ira and Gladys Booms were united in marriage on 
October 27, 1951 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  She preceded 
him in death on August 18, 2020.  Ira served in the US Army from 1951-1953.  Ira 
was a hardworking, innovative, dairy farmer.  There was no task he couldn't 
perform and everything was fixable.  He loved to play cards, especially 
pinochle.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling with his beautiful bride, 
Gladys, and working with his hands.  He most notably, loved his beautiful wife 
Gladys.  He doted on her and cared for her for 69 years of marriage.  In his 
lifetime, he not only served his country, but provided for his family.  He built 
his family home after their home was destroyed by a fire.  He ran his dairy farm 
while working several jobs to support his family.  He was a lifelong member of 
OLLH Catholic Church, and instilled his strong Christian beliefs into his 
family.  He taught his children to be like him, determined and hard working.  He 
will always be our hero, strongest man we know.

He is survived by his children Lonnie (Donna) Wrubel of Port Huron, Suzette 
(Larry) Vogel of Deckerville, Steven (Cheryl) Wrubel of Harbor Beach, Janet 
Peters of Metamora, Charlene (Stan) Liniarski of Kimball, Brenda (Don Schultz) 
Carter of Marysville; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and his sisters 
Eleanor Roggenbuck, Sally Andrlik, Francis Hipkiss, Dorothy Strugala, Manette 
Johnson; and brothers Irvin, Michael, Daniel, and Richard Wrubel.  Ira was 
preceded in death by his sisters Adeline Woychowski, Patricia Jimkoski; and an 
infant sister.

Funeral Mass for Ira will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Our 
Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. 
George Amos officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation 
for Ira will be Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor 
Beach.  Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until 
time of services at 11:30 a.m. Military Honors will be given by the American 
Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach, at the cemetery.  Please note that we are still 
practicing social distancing, with limited numbers. Published Minden City Herald
