CATHERINE ZMICH
Catherine M. (Partaka) Zmich, 81, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at her home 
with her loved ones at her side on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018. She was born in 
Detroit, Michigan on July 16, 1937 the daughter of Alvin & Mildred (McAllister) 
Wright. She first married Leonard J. Partaka on Jan. 4, 1955. He predeceased 
her Sept. 5, 1972. She then married Robert C. Zmich on May 4, 1974 in Freeburg. 
They celebrated more than 40 wonderful years together before he predeceased her 
on May 8, 2014. She had lived in Gladwin since 1976, previously residing in 
Ubly, Michigan and was owner of Z's Flower Box in Gladwin. Prior to that she 
worked for the Mitchell Corporation in Clare as an automotive seamstress. She 
loved playing Bingo and she made beautiful silk flower designs. Her loving 
memory will be forever cherished by her sons: Gregory J. (Lori) Partaka of West 
Branch; Donald A. Partaka of South Carolina; daughter: Diana L. Partaka also of 
South Carolina; son: Leonard A. (Barbara) Partaka of Virginia; step children: 
Judy Smith of Bad Axe; Carol (Brent) McDaniel of Colorado; Susan (Gary) 
Osminski of Bad Axe. Her children blessed her with several grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her sisters: Theresa Webb of 
Ohio; Margaret Ruthkowski of Detroit; Ruella Ogger. She is preceded in death by 
both husbands and her parents: Alvin & Mildred Wright. Funeral Liturgy will be 
conducted by Rev. Msgr. Francis B. Koper on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, 11 a.m. at 
Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive 
friends on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 from 2 to 8 p.m. Her final resting place will 
be Grout Township Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan. Those wishing to send an
