Boniface Zurek
June 3, 1900 - December 22, 1972
BAD AXE Boniface Zurek, 72, retired Verona Township farmer, died Friday in 
Huron Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe, after a short illness.  He was born June 
3, 1900, in Paris Township. He married Phoebe Lorkowski, June 16, 1924.  
They lived in Detroit and Harbor Beach until 1954 when they moved to Verona 
Township.  Zurek was a member of Holy Name Society of Holy Trinity Catholic 
Church, Smith Corners. 

He is survived by his widow; two sons, Robert Zurek, Bad Axe, and Melvin 
Zurek, Harbor Beach; five daughters, Mrs. Jeanette (Edmund) Guza and Mrs. 
Phyllis (Marvin) Kaciba, both of Harbor Beach; Mrs. Evelyn (Clemens) 
Kubacki, Ubly; Mrs. Anna Mae (Gerald) Learman, Filion, and Mrs. Margaret 
(James) Ritter, Elkton; 33 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and two 
half-sisters, Mrs. Enoch Peruski, Minden City, and Mrs. Vincent Schulte, 
Harbor Beach. 

The remains are in Zinger Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 
p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy 
Trinity Church with Rev. Joseph Karaba, O.S.B., officiating.  Burial will be 
in the church cemetery.  Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan)
