Peter Zurek
June 13, 1888 - October 2, 1966
UBLY Peter J. Zurek, 78, retired farmer of Sanilac County and lifelong 
resident of the Thumb, died Sunday night in Hubbard Memorial Hospital, Bad 
Axe, after a long illness.   Mr. Zurek was born June 13, 1888, in Paris 
Township, Huron County.  He and Miss Frances Grimski were married November 
26, 1912, in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Parisville.  Mr. and Mrs. Zurek 
moved: to Ubly in 1955 when they retired.  

Mr. Zurek is survived by his widow; six sons, Elmer Zurek, Harbor Beach; 
Raymond Zurek, Ubly, Sylvester Zurke, Hazel Park; Chester and Marvin Zurek, 
both of Detroit, and Leo Zurek, Roseville; three daughters, Mrs. Constance  
(Matthew) Mazure, Mrs. Irene (Irvin) Lamke and Mrs. Clarence LaBeski, all of 
Ubly, 34 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  A son, Walter Zurek, 
died in December, 1950. 

Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's 
Catholic Church by Rev. Zygmunt I. Gaj.  Rev. Henry S. Podsiad, pastor of 
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dwight Township, will be deacon and Rev. 
Joseph D. Ryan, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Argyle, will be 
subdeacon.  Burial will be In the church cemetery.  The remains are In 
Zinger Funeral Home, Ubly, where Father Gaj will recite the Rosary at 9:15 
p.m. today.  Published Port Huron Times Herald Monday October 3, 1966
