(Zurick) Zurek February 22, 1922 – October 12, 2010 SYLVIA E. ZUREK, age 88 of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Lakeview Extended Care and Rehab Center of Harbor Beach Community Hospital. She was born on February 26, 1922 in Harbor Beach to the late Philip and Frances(Gwizdella) Zurick. She and Elmer Zurek were united in marriage on February 15, 1941. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1997. Sylvia was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for funeral lunches at the church. She loved visiting with her friends and family and loved her flowers very much. She is survived by her children: Judy Haviland and her husband Gary of St. Clair, Richard Zurek of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Cynthia Boyle of Lansing. Five Grandchildren: Kelie Capling, Robert Haviland, David Haviland, Jennifer Hoover and Sara Boyle, and ten great grandchildren. Her brother Norman Zurick and his wife Catherine of Port Huron, and sister Edith Hurren of Harbor Beach. She was preceded in death by her brother Raymond Zurick and her brother-in-law Kenneth Hurren. Funeral Mass for Sylvia will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church at 11 am, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation for Sylvia will be Friday, from 3-8 pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Saturday will be in the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11am. A Rosary Service will take place at 7 pm in the funeral home on Friday.
