Name:               Anne Marie Halzdorf

This grave stone is of [Annie Halzdorf/Carpenter] she was born in 1844 in 
Echternach, Grevenmacher, Luxembourg. 
Her parents names were - Peter & Margaret Halzdorf/Holstroph/Holstrof/Holslef 
(spelling?) 
Annie was married to *Peter Carpenter (Pierre Francos Charpentier) around 
*1870 and immigrated into Port Austin, Michigan about this same time. They 
lived in Port Austin for a few years and then moved out of town south near 
Kinde. They had lost their 1st baby boy who died in 1871. 
There other children were -
Nicolas - born 1872
Edward - born 1875
George - born 1876
Peter - born 1878
Elizabeth/Lousia - born 1880  (died in 1962 burried in Pinnepog)
Katherine - born 1882  (died in 1902 burried next to Annie) engraving on back 
of Annie's stone.  

Annie died on June 23, 1882 from injuries she suffered in a horse & wagon 
accident. They went into town to get supplies and on the way home a Cyclone 
Storm "HIT" the area and threw Annie from the wagon. She probably suffered - 
head/neck/or rib injuries. 

Only more research & reading can determine the exact location of "accident" 
whether they went to Port Austin? or Kinde? for supplies that day?? Bad Axe 
residents sustained injuries and supposedly the winds (tornado) came from the 
WEST.
