The Expounder [Marshall MI] February 1, 1901
Henry Morse, a farmer living west of Lansing, was found unconscious in the 
road near the city limits. His left ear was cut off, and his face badly 
bruised. His team was discovered a mile west of the city, and it is presumed 
he was dragged by the runaway horses for a considerable distance. He died 
thirty minutes after being found.
