After thirty-two years he established his innocence to the satisfaction of Gov. Alger, who pardoned him on Thanksgiving day, 1885, the old man proving that he had been convicted on perjured testimony. He is now 80 years old. His family died while he was in prison, and an effort will be made to induce the Legislature to make some provision for his remaining days. A joint resolution was introduced for this purpose.
