She was born May 20, 1900, the daughter of George and Anna Billerbeck Schramm. She attended schools in Illinois and moved to Orleans in 1916. She was married to Henry Heppe in St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ionia, on Oct. 15, 1919. They have lived their entire life on Meade Road in Orleans. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1969. Mrs. Heppe was a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Gleaners, World War I Barracks Auxiliary, Farm Bureau, American Legion Auxiliary of Ionia, United Methodist Church Women and a former member of the Banner Grange. She is survived by her husband, Henry; three sons, Vernon, Harvey and Robert, all of rural Orleans; two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Katherine) Kenter of Orleans, Mrs. Stephen (Mildred) Hartman of Ionia; 15 grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Schramm of Paradise, Cal., Victor Schramm of Frankfort; one sister, Mrs. Louise Fagerhaugh, of Minneapolis, Minn. Two brothers and one son preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral home with Rev. Luther Brokaw of Belding, officiating. Burial will be in Higbee Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial fund has been established for the Orleans United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
