BLANCHARD, Dorcas A.
Dorcas A. (Decker) Blanchard, born in 1811 in New York, is buried beside her husband, Ezra Blanchard.  They were the
parents of Ezra Guy Blanchard and Mahala Jane (Blanchard) Phelps, also buried in DuBois Cemetery.  They were the
grandparents of Dora B., Lyman H., and Nellie N. (Blanchard) Sherwood (also all buried in DuBois).  Dorcas’ death
certificate indicates that she died, as a widow, of heart disease.  The Ingham County Democrat reported that on
12/24/1891, Dorcas had been very sick and was slowly recovering.  ICD also reported on 06/07/1894 that the 22nd
Annual Meeting of the Ingham County Pioneer Society noted that Mrs. A.P. Fritz and Dorcas Blanchard had died in the
past year (1894).

Dorcas A. (Decker) Blanchard was born on April 1, 1811 in New York USA, died on January 5, 1894 in Wheatfield
Township, Ingham County, Michigan USA and buried at Dubois Cemetery, Mason, Ingham, Michigan USA. She married Ezra
G. Blanchard about 1830 in New York USA and had three children: Mahala Jane (Phelps), Ezra Guy and Frances H.
Blanchard.
