BLANCHARD 1848-1902 Additonal Comments: BLANCHARD, Marinda R. Marinda R. (Gilbert) Blanchard was the wife of Ezra Guy and she is on one of the two Blanchard monuments (next to her husband’s monument). Ezra Guy and Marinda R. (Gilbert) Blanchard were married on 04/03/1864. At the time of the wedding, Ezra was 30 and Marinda was 16. The service was performed by Joseph Scudder, Justice of the Peace. Isral Chapman and Miss Jane Phelps were witnesses. Marinda and Ezra were the parents of Dora B., Lyman H., and Nellie N. (Blanchard) Sherwood (all are buried in DuBois Cemetery). There are other Gilbert family members (Anna Gilbert and Levi Gilbert) buried in DuBois Cemetery, but their relation to Marinda has not been determined. The Ingham County Democrat in 08/28/1902, pg.8, col. 3, stated, “Mrs. Frank Darrow received the sad news of the death of her mother, Mrs. M. Blanchard, of Wheatfield, last Sunday.” Additional Note by Ken Gailey (loneranger0145@yahoo.com): Marinda R. Blanchard was born in December of 1848 in New York, USA. She died in 1902 in Ingham County, Michigan USA. She married Ezra Guy Blanchard and had eight children: Ezra J, Ida M, William H, Myron, George, Frank, Nettie and Emma A. Blanchard.
