EVERY DIED Dec. 26, 1882 AGED 4 yr’s. 6 m’s & 12 d’s. (4 lines illegible verse) (footstone) F.E. Notes: Floyd (nicknamed “Floddie” per family members) Every was born in 1878. He was the son of Horatio and Catherine J. (Lundy) Every (Catherine’s father, Edmund Lundy, and wife were living in Lapeer County in 1884.). Floyd was the brother of Aletha Every. The Ingham County Democrat (12/28/1882, pg. 10, col.1) reported that “the five year old son of Horatio Every died this morning, 12/26/1882 of scarlet fever.” In regard to another sibling, the Ingham County Democrat mentions “10/24/1895 John Every, son of Horatio Every, married Miss Jennie Blair of Rives Junction on 10/23/1895. He will live in Jackson where he is a freight conductor on the MI Central RR.” Every family records do not indicate that Horatio had a son named “John” but they do indicate a son name Wount. Wount may have gone by John, but this has not been verified. Per the Ingham County Democrat news for SE Alaiedon, on 04/03/1894, 90 year old Rebecca Scudder does most of her own housework. Per the same newspaper, on 04/13/1899, Thursday, Horatio Every is visiting his aunt, Mrs. Scudder, aged 94 (to be 95 in April) so there must be a family relation to the Scudder family. Regarding Floyd’s father, Horatio, the Ingham County Democrat also mentions, 10/4/1926 “Horatio Every dies of lobar pneumonia, age 78 years, occupation was farmer. His parents were John & Jane Every.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ingham/photos/tombstones/dubois/every117199gph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mifiles/ File size: 1.0 Kb
