Mahala Jane (Blanchard) Phelps was born on August 21, 1831 in Sodus, Wayne, New York USA to Ezra G. Blanchard and
Dorcas A. Decker. She died on April 6, 1869 in Ingham County, Michigan USA and buried at Dubois Cemetery, Mason,
Ingham, Michigan USA. She married George W. Phelps about 1850 in New York USA and had seven children: E. B.,
Isadore "Dora", Isabel "Bell", George G, Martha J, Harriet H. and Judson H. Phelps.
