Additional Comments:
Polly M. Speer, wife of Zenas C., purchased Matthew DuBois' farm (section 24, 
Alaiedon Township) c1836.  The spelling of the family name, Speer, often 
appears written as "Spears."  Polly's husband's name also appears as "Zeniss" 
and "Fenas."  After Polly's death, Zenas (age 56) married Catharine Lott (age 
57), a widow, on January 11, 1857 (Ingham County, Michigan Marriages, 1838-
1867, 2:397).

Polly Mary was born on January 14, 1798 in New York, USA and died April 25, 1854
in Michigan. She was buried at Dubois Cemetery, Mason, Ingham, Michigan and
married to Zenas C. Speer and had three children: Emily, Mary Ann and George Speer.
