                            George Washington Briggs
                                   1848 - 1918

George Washington Briggs son of Caleb Tracy Briggs and Elizabeth Ursula Morrill
was born on August 24, 1848 in Blackman Township, Jackson, Michigan USA. He died
on September 18, 1918 in White Oak Township, Ingham, Michigan USA and buried at
Fairview Cemetery, Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA. He married Ellen Juliette
Stid on August 8, 1868 in Leslie, Ingham, Michigan USA and they had seven 
children: Laura Elizabeth (Charles A. Smith), Lillie "Lizzie" Ann (Herman Daniel
Smith), Charles Fredrick (Dora Belle Cheney), Walter Edward (Amy Evangeline
Ladyman)(Lena Mae Briggs), John William (Eva May Tuttle), Margaret "Maggie" 
Ellen (Charles Ezra Garred) and Arthur George Briggs (Lulu L. Chase).
