                           Robert Dunlay Chappel
                                1817 - 1867

Robert Dunlay Chappel (spelled Chapel on his tombstone) son of Henry Chappel 
and Amy Hawley was born on March 14, 1817 in Middlefield Town, Otsego, New 
York USA. He died on July 16, 1867 in Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA and 
buried at Fairview Cemetery, Section 2 Lot 227 in Dansville, Ingham, 
Michigan USA. He first married on August 30, 1840 in Ingham County, Michigan 
USA to Phebe J. Doane and they had a daughter Mary Ellen Chappel (David E. 
Gifford). After Phebe died on October 24, 1842 Robert remarried on November
7, 1843 in Stockbridge, Ingham, Michigan USA to Gertrude Leroy Lowe and they
had four children: Eugenia Margaret (Cassius P. Lowe), Laura Almena (Charles
Lovett Randall), Lovinna Estelle and Robert William Chappel (Ellen Matilda
Dayton).
