                                 James Hoffman
                                  1802 - 1874

James Hoffman son of James Hoffman and Naomi VanSickle was born on January 2,
1802 in Wantage, Sussex, New Jersey USA. He died on April 30, 1874 in Dansville,
Ingham, Michigan USA and buried at Fairview Cemetery, Section 2 Lot 109 in 
Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA. On November 15, 1828 in Sussex County, New
Jersey USA he was married by Rev. L. Fletcher, Pastor of the Great Valley 
Baptist Church to Sarah Demorest and they had eight children: William, 
Elizabeth, Samuel D. (Emma Rosetta Hanes), Cornelius (Frances Emeline Davison),
James M. (Almira C. Williams), Joseph, Theodore (Rachel A. Woods)(Mary E. 
Whipple) and Oren D. Hoffman. After Sarah died on April 9, 1859, James remarried
in 1860 in Ingham County, Michigan USA to Mary Ann Williams, daughter of Isaac
Williams and Ann Quenby. James and Mary Ann had two children: Elizabeth "Libbie"
C. Hoffman (Dwella M. Peters) and Edward Carlyle Hoffman (Ida Marie Cynthia
Boys)(Mamie Imogene Woodley).
