                           Effie Jane Holmes
                              1862 - 1911

Effie Jane "West" Holmes daughter of Charles F. West and Julia A. Halsey was
born on October 31, 1862 in Bunker Hill, Ingham, Michigan USA. She died on 
December 26, 1911 in Eaton Rapids, Eaton, Michigan USA and buried at Fairview 
Cemetery, Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA. She married Hartman "Hartie" Sydney 
Rice on November 10, 1883 in Grass Lake, Jackson, Michigan USA and had a son,
Floyd Charlie Rice (Edna R. Draft). She remarried to Charles Holmes on March 3,
1888 in Leslie, Ingham, Michigan USA and had five more sons: Walter M. (Pearl
M. Russell)(Harriet H. Miller), Ernest (Nellie May Eaton), Clinton W. (Josie B.
Chaffee), Irving (Gladys E. Culver) and Howard Holmes.
