                               Aretus Swan
                               1823 - 1880

Aretus Swan was born on July 8, 1823 in Genesee County, New York USA to Levi 
Swan and Eunice Cady. He died on March 29, 1880 in Ingham Township, Ingham, 
Michigan USA and buried at Fairview Cemetery, Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA. 
He married Philenda Wells in 1846 and they had two children: Levi Benjamin 
(Flora A. Gibson)(Hortense Dagget) and Mary Elizabeth Swan (William Francisco). 
After Philenda died he married Ann Maria "Mary" Otis daughter of Paul Otis and 
Sarah "Sally" Carl on April 2, 1857 in Mason, Ingham, Michigan USA and they had
four children: Orrin (Jessie D. Copp), Orson, Jennie Viola (David H. Piper) and
Isaac L. Swan.
