Swan and Mary A. Wiers was born on February 15, 1888 in Leroy Township, Ingham, Michigan USA. He was a World War I Veteran, Lieutenant and Aviator operating a bombing plane on the Western front prior to the ending of the war. He was killed in an accident in France on November 23, 1918 with little details known. The only word received from Lieutenant Henderson a companion was he had fallen from a plane and was instantly killed. A memorial tombstone is placed at Fairview Cemetery, Section 2 Lot 206 in Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA in his memory. On June 30, 1906 in Wheatfield Township, Ingham, Michigan USA by R. R. Etchinson, Pastor with witnesses Mary Swan and Forester Swan he was married to Clara Jane Brickner and they had a son named John H. Swan (Alice F. Keirstead).
