Thompson and Mary Ann Tourgee was born on January 12, 1837 in Bergen, Genesee, New York USA. On October 8, 1913 in Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA he died of heart disease and kidney disease and buried at Fairview Cemetery, Section 3 Lot 457 in Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA. There is a photo taken by Merryann Ebenstein Palmer in 1990 of his tombstone which is now overgrown by a tree and is marked by a GAR star flagholder which stands for Grand Army of the Republic. He served in the Civil War as a private, Company C, 105th Regiment, New York Infantry, discharged on June 27, 1862 in Virginia USA. He was married to Emma Elizabeth James and they had a son named Louis James Thompson (Mary J. Bitters).
