DuBOIS DIED AUG. 20, 1894 AGED 87 YRS. 7 MOS. Additional Comments: Lucy (Chapman) DuBois is listed on the north side of a DuBois family monument and her husband, Garrett, is listed on the west side of the monument. Garrett and Lucy DuBois were married in 1832 and lived in Ulster County, New York. In 1938, they came to Michigan in wagons and settled in the DuBois District (Alaiedon) near Garrett's parents and brothers. Garrett and Lucy later moved to nearby Bunkerhill. Garrett helped build the Methodist Episcopal Church at Bunkerhill and he and Lucy were members of that denomination for many, many years. One of Garrett and Lucy's children, an infant son named Roswell, died in 1841 and was the second burial in DuBois Cemetery. A daughter of Garrett and Lucy, named Ann DuBois, died October 7, 1861, 18 yrs., 6 days, and is buried near her parents in Felt Plains Cemetery.
