Additional Comments:
BENNET, George; 1845-1859; born in Ohio to Peter and Rachel Bennet; shares 
tombstone with his brother, Joseph H.; brother of Sarah Jane.  George’s 
father, Peter, was the son of John and Sarah Bennett.  Peter and Rachel moved 
to Michigan in 1851-1852.  They lived on a farm north of the cemetery next to 
Peter’s brothers, John F. and Jacob.  George’s death is recorded on the 
Mortality Schedule of the 1860 Census for Meridian Township.  (Note: This 
branch of the family used “Bennet” without final “t.”)
