Additional Comments:
ROCKWELL, Truman; 1816-1888; born in Vermont to parents both born in Vermont 
(source: 1880 Census); married Phebe H. Drake in 1840 (source: vol. 69, year 
1840, Livingston County, Michigan Marriage Records 1836-1933); father of 
Albert.  His second wife was Alma.  Truman was a farmer who owned 160 acres in 
Alaiedon Township which included the cemetery.  According to a brief note in 
the Lansing State Republican, April 1, 1885, Truman Rockwell "rented his farm, 
sold all his stock and farming implements in preparation for moving to 
Albion," MI.  According to the Calhoun County List of Deceased Pioneers, 
Truman Rockwell died in Albion, Michigan (source: Michigan Pioneer & 
Historical Collections, vol. 13, page 123).  Part of Truman's 160 acres 
(including the cemetery)was at one point sold to Frank Foote (source: 1895 
Atlas map of Alaiedon).  Hence, the inclusion of the name "Foote" in the Foote-
Rockwell Cemetery name.  There have been no records located to indicate that 
any Foote family members were ever buried in the Foote-Rockwell Cemetery.  
Note: there is also a "Foote Cemetery" on Sherwood Road in nearby Williamston, 
Michigan.
