ACKER DIED FEB 24, 1864 AGED 1 YR 10 M'S & 20 D'S PHILIP BORTLES CO B 14TH MICH INF Note: Harvey Acker was born November 28, 1829 Sullivan, Madison Co., NY and died November 8, 1924 Mason, Ingham Co., MI. He married Adaline Fellows in 1852 and they were the parents of 8 children; Wesley (1862-1864), George died in 1917, William, Henry, Lewis J., John Frances Belle (Acker) Bortle and Emma (Acker) Fitzgerald. After the death of his first wife, he married Chloe Hilton in 1874. Philip Bortles was born 1807 in Herkimer Co. NY and died December 13, 1877 Mason, Ingham Co., MI. Civil War records shows he resided in Washtenaw Co and enlisted January 15, 1862 in Ypsilanti, MI on the Union side for Michigan. He enlisted in Company B 14th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 13 Feb 1862. He was discharged from Company B 14th Infantry Regiment Michigan on 11 Jul 1862 at Big Springs, MS. Family tree records shows he was married to Nancy MacComber and they were the parents of several children. He married Eliza Huffman January 21, 1855 in Wayne Co., MI. One of his children, Thomas Manley Bortle is also buried in Maple Grove Cemetery.
