WELLS BECKWITH MICHIGAN PVT STU ARMY TNG CORPS WORLD WAR I OCT 16, 1894 - NOV 9, 1945 Note: Alice Almora (Wells) Elliott death certificate shows she was the daughter of Gardner H. Wells and Lovina E. Shattuck (NY), white, female, married, husband W. J. Elliott, born June 18, 1864 in Macomb Co., MI and died on Dcember 27, 1920 in Lansing, Ingham Co., MI at the age of 56 yerars 6 months and 9 days, cause of death apoplexy. Informant Mrs. Claud Smith of Lansing. Burial was on December 29, 1920 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, MI. Lovina E. (Shattuck) Wells was born June 20, 1827 in West Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY and died on May 5, 1895 Jackson, Jackson Co., MI at the resident of her son-in-law, W. W. Beckwith of Jackson, Mich. Obituary shows she married Whitman Corbin in 1847 and they came from New York and settled in Macomb County until 1887. Her husband, Whitman, Corbin died in 1852 and she remained a widow until she married Gardner H. Wells in 1854. They were the parents of four children, two sons and two daughters, Fred M. Wells, Alice A. (Wells) Beckwith-Elliott, J. D. Wells and Mrs. R. W. Wilcox. (see find a grave website memorial page of Lovina E. Wells in Maple Grove Cemetery lisitng) by Randy Gladstone. Whitman Corbin died September 7, 1853 and is buried in Walker Cemetery, Hamlin, Monroe Co., NY. William Wells Beckwith was the son of Alice Almora (Wells) Beckwith-Elliott. Census records for 1930 Mason Ingham Co., MI shows he was the husband of Ila M. Beckwith and two children, son William G. Beckwith. age 5 and daughter, Waidene R. Beckwith, age 9.
