H. GOUCHER CO K 28TH MICH INF Note: George H. Goucher was born April 23, 1820 in Essex County, NY and died December 6, 1879 in Mason, Ingham Co., MI at the age of 59 years. He married Lydia A. Harvey July 2, 1846. Moved to Michigan in 1852 and to Mason in 1870. He was a well known carpenter. Civil war records shows he enlisted at the age of 44 10 Nov 1864 as a Private in Wayland, MI. Enlisted in Co K Michigan 28th Infantry Regiment 11 Oct 1864 and mustered out 16 May 1865 at Nashville, TN. Military records shows he died 6 Dec 1875 but Ingham County Democrat newspaper obituary provided by Randy Gladstone for Find A Grave shows a date of the paper as being December 11, 1879 and showing he died of heart disease on December 6, 1879. George Arthur Goucher was the son of William H. and Clara O. Goucher. Military records shows he was born March 4, 1881 in Michigan. He was the husband of Harriet H.
