HELENE                 GIBBINS

Note:  There were no dates on the headstone.  Information is from family tree 
and census records:

Gibbins William Howlett was the son of Arthur Augustus and Josephine 
(Coatsworth) Howlett.  He was born July 30, 1902, death date unknown at this 
time.  He was the brother of Lyle C. Howlett, Frances F. Howlett, Dorothy 
Howlett, Ruth Howlett, and Doris Howlett.  He married Helene Genevieve 
Bardwell on June 18, 1936.

Helene Genevieve Bardwell was the daughter of Levi and Clara Bardwell and a 
sister of Irene Bardwell, possibly a twin as they were the same age in the 
1910 census records.  She was born April 7,8, 1900 and passed away April 9, 
1992.  She was a teacher for Mason Senior High School teaching Homemaking II 
and III and Effective Living for many years.

1900 Census Greenleaf, Sanilac Co., MI shows Levi Bardwell, age 34, born May 
1866 MI, Clara Bardwell, age 35, born Sept. 1864 Canada, Elsie 6/12 born Apr 
1900 and Ella 1/12 Apr 1900 (probably should have said 6/12) Note:  Confusion 
on different names from the 1900 census and the 1910 census records for the 
names of the daughters.  Also 1870 Census Ellington, Tuscola, MI shows Levi 
parents to be Lucius and Jersia Bardwell.

1910 Census, Elkland, Tuscola Co., MI shows parents Levi Bardwell, age 43, 
born about 1867 MI and Clara Bardwell, age 47, born about 1863, Canada, 
Hellene, daughter, age 10 born abt 1900, MI  and Irene, daughter, age 10 born 
abt 1900 MI, and a hired man, George Snell.
