KERNS 1840 -1896 Smaller headstones located near the monument are as follows: MARIE KERNS 1843 - 1914 JOHN KERNS 1849 - 1917 JOHN AGNES SUSAN MARIA MOTHER FATHER Note: Patrick and Mary Kerns were the parents of, Susan, Maria, John, Martha, Agnes, Sarah Jennie and James Kerns. Martha, Sarah Jennie, and James Kerns with his wife Ida M. Kerns and their two children Marguerite S. and James Alexander Kerns are all buried in Section J of Maple Grove Cemetery. Death certificate shows John Kerns was the son of Patrick Kerns and Mary McBrien/McBrian (both of Ireland), male, white, single, born January 6, 1849 Canada and died on March 15, 1917 Mason, Ingham Co., Mich at the age of 68 years 2 months and 9 days, cause of death Neuralgia of Heart. Informant James Kerns of Mason. Burial was on March 17, 1917 Maple Grove, Mason, Michigan.
