Note:  Civil war records shows he enlisted at the age of 26 on February 9, 
1864 in Jersaleum, NY.  He enlisted in Co C New York 188th Infantry Regiment 
on 4 Oct 1864.

Orrin Jacob Lewis was the son of Nicholas and Elizabeth "Betsey" (Robbins) 
Lewis. He married Alice D. Rathbone March 6, 1859 in Mason, Ingham Co., MI.  
1870 census for Alaiedon, Ingham Co. MI shows children Rodney Lewis, age 10, 
Edith Lewis age 7 and Jay Lewis age 5.

His death certificate shows he passed away February 18, 1905 in Alaiedon, 
Ingham Co., MI at the age of 68 years old, cause of death apoplexy. Burial was 
on February 21, 1905 in Maple Grove Cemetery.  No date of birth given on the 
certificate.  Headstone shows he died February 17, 1905.

His parents Nicholas and Elizabeth Lewis are also buried in Maple Grove in 
Section A.

Alice D. (Rathbone) Lewis was the daughter of James L. and Louisa (Roberts) 
Rathbone both of NY.  It shows that she was white, female, married, married at 
age 18, mother of 3 children, 3 living, resident of Alaiedon Twp., Ingham Co., 
MI died December 28, 1899 in Alaiedon Twp., Ingham Co., MI at the age of 58 
years 10 months and 4 days, cause of death Caridos Dropsey.  Burial in Maple 
Grove Cemetery.

Cemetery records also show a Jay Lewis buried in the same family plot, born 
abt 186 MI.  I did not see a headstone for him.
