The newspaper, Ingham County Democrat, has an article that Robert Moon, aged 51, died as a result of suicide by taking opium and alcohol. He was a penniless miller and was despondent on account of being out of work. His wife, Mrs. Moon, was a domestic at the Horton Hotel. There are two grown children. The Ingham Co. News for June 29, 1893 shows Robert Moon funeral was held last Saturday. He was a veteran of the war of the rebellion, aged 51 years, and had been a resident of Mason for many years. He leaves a widow, one daughter and one son. 1880 census shows his wife Ellen born May 1847 New York, daughter, Josephine, born 1875 and son George born August 1867.
