MUTTON ELISTED MAR 16, 1865 12TH MICH INF DIED AT DUVAL BLUFF ARK JUNE 3, 1865 AGED 21 YEARS Smaller stones located near the monument are as follows: HARRIET GEORGE MOTHER FATHER Note: There is a name stone there for Harriet but no information on the monument in her name. Found her name on the New York Passenger List and 1850 and 1860 census records as being born in 1846 in England. New York Passenger Listed showed David Mutton, age 29, Abigail, age 27, George, age 6, David age 5 and Harriet age 4 departed on the ship Ivanhoe on May 13, 1850 from Liverpool, England and arrival New York, New York. 1850 Census shows them residing in Willington, Lorain Co., Ohio and 1860 and 1870 Censuses shows them residing in Aurelius, Ingham County, Michigan. 1880 Census shows Abigail a widow and was living with her son David and his wife Catherine and their daughter, Harriet in Fairplain, Montcalm Co., MI and in 1900 she was living with son James and his wife Clara and children in Aurelius, Ingham Co., MI U.S. Civil War Soldier Records shows that George Mutton enlisted at the age of 19 as private In Mason, Michigan in Co G Michigan 12th Infantry Regiment on March 15, 1865.
