Purdy was the son of Theodore and Harriet Houghtly Purdy. He married Clara Ann Vicary on September 18,1888 in Mason, Ingham Co. MI and they were the parents of Rex William and Glenn Theodore Purdy. Fred was born December 14, 1865 in Raisin Center, Lenawee Co., MI and passed away on December 22, 1903 in Mason, Ingham Co., MI. Clara Ann Vicary Purdy was the daughter of William M. and L. B. Vicary. She was born July 14, 1867 in Bunker Hill, Ingham Co., MI and passed away on August 28, 1947 in Jackson, Jackson Co., MI. Rex William Purdy was the son of Fred H. and Clara Ann (Vicary) Purdy and brother of Glenn Theodore Purdy. He was born November 22, 1899 in Lake Odessa, Ionia Co., MI and passed away May15, 1924 in Aurelius, Ingham Co., MI.
