                            Jared Backus
                             1819 - 1906

Jared Backus son of Simeon Backus and Polly Patchen was born on March 24, 1819
in Groton, Tompkins, New York USA. He died on March 21, 1906 in Dansville, Ingham, 
Michigan USA and buried at Fairview Cemetery, Dansville, Ingham, Michigan USA. He
first married Eliza Turner on January 10, 1843 in Lima, Washtenaw, Michigan USA 
and after Eliza died in 1853 he remarried to Hannah E. Newkirk on May 24, 1858 in
Ingham County, Michigan USA & they had a son named Benoni B. Backus (Elizabeth C).
