Portland Boy Has Too Good Stuff in Him, Says Judge in Refusing Request

Ionia, Mich., Jan, 6. - Sam Burman, fifteen years old, is regarded at his home 
in Portland as a holy terror. He's big and strong and good looking.
Sam came of his own accord to Probate Judge Webster and asked to be sent to 
the reform school at Lansing.
"I think a year down there would make me a good boy," said Sam, "and I want to 
learn."
"Look here, Sam," said the judge, "You go back home and try to make good-and 
I'm betting that you'll succeed," Sam will report to the Judge regularly as to 
how things are faring.
