Grand Rapids Press July 4, 1910
Portland, Mich., Aug. 4. - Four persons had a narrow escape from death today
when two automobiles collided at the intersection of two streets. One machine
was driven by Lorenzo Webber and besides himself contained his sons, John and
Charles. The other machine was driven by William Gibbs. Webber's machine was
damaged to the extent of $150. None of the persons concerned in the accident
were injured although John Webber was thrown some distance into the air, turning
a complete somersault to alight upon his feet.
