Grand Rapids Press July 29, 1913
Ionia, Mich., July 29.-With his shirt open and his sleeves rolled back, hammer
and saw in his hands Mayor Fred Green joined the crowd of baseball boosters who
set to work early this morning to build the grandstand in the baseball park to
replace the one demolished by the wind Sunday. 
Members of the ball team and many others including the city's chief executive,
labored hard, all day pulling and driving nails and sawing planks.
