Jan. 31., - Ralph J. Perry, whose eyesight has been restored by a delicate operation at Ann Arbor, is one of the happiest men on earth, according to word received from him by his mother and sister in this village. He is expected home in a couple of weeks. Thirty-five years ago, Mr. Perry last saw the beauties of nature. His sister is also blind. When 13 years of age some saw fillings lodged in her eyes and but a few days later her brothers eyes were accidentally filled with sand. A physician was summoned who prescribed a solution of nitrate of silver for each, which when applied burned and destroyed the outer coating of the eyes and completely stopped their vision. The operation in Ann Arbor consisted in removint the outer coating and exposing the pupil. Mr. Perry is 43 years of age, a graduate of the state school for the blind and has supported his mother and sister by weaving at which he is an expert. Heis also a good musician and plays in a local orchestra.
