Grand Rapids Press July 6, 1916
Portland, July 8. - Nearly 100 Ionia county bankers were entertained by the 
Maynard-Allen State bank and the Webber State Savings bank at a banquet served 
at Hotel Divine here Thursday night.  William J. Grey, first vice president of 
the First and Old Detroit National bank and president of the Michigan State 
Bankers association was the principal speaker. Mr. Grey, in the course of his 
talk complimented Charles H. Maynard of the Maynard-Allen State bank. (not 
legible). Practically every bank in Ionia county was represented.
