Believed to be one of the first pieces of tar sidewalk laid in the village- and now the last-this walk reflected the gradual change that has been seen in sidewalk construction. In the early history of the village, board walks were used. These gave way to tar walks, the first had surfaced construction of which the village boasted. Then came the present era of the cement sidewalks File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/newspapers/lastofta179nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
