Springfield Republican December 2, 1902
The 16-year old twin daughters of Riley Taft of Orange, Mich. were instantly 
killed Monday night at a railway crossing near Lyons. They were returning home 
from school with Jessie Croel when a west-bound passenger train struck them. 
Miss Croel cannot live.
