Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 2 Dec 1942

Mrs. Sarah MaKay Abbott, 81, a resident of Keene township for many years, died 
early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ula Sizer, of Detroit.  
She had lived with her daughter since the death of her husband, Frank Abbott, 
who preceded her in death about seven years ago.  They had lived in Grand 
Rapids at that time.

Born May 8, 1861, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Robert 
and Sarah McKay, pioneer residents of Keene township.  Surviving her besides 
the daughter, Mrs. Sizer, are two sons, Robert Abbott of Grand Rapids and Miles 
Abbott of New York city; also one granddaughter, Eleanor Sizer, of Detroit.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Morris 
funeral home.  Burial will be in Marble cemetery.
