Margaret Ellen Ackerson, 66, of Sunfield died Thursday at Sparrow Hospital in 
Lansing.

She was born February 14, 1925, in Sebewa Township, the daughter of Iril N. and 
Matilda Shilton.  She married Allyn Jay Ackerson on April 25, 1943.

She was a member of the ?? United Methodist Church, a member of the Church 
Board of Trustees, Church Treasurer, and Conference Delegate.  She was a member 
of Farm Bureau, Sebewa Community Action Group, and Sebewa Community Birthday 
Club.

She is survived by her husband; three sons; Larry of Mason, John of Muir, and 
Ron of Holt; three daughters; Patti Weller of Sunfield, Norma Russell of 
Virginia, and Vicki Pontz of Grand Ledge; 23 grandchildren; four brothers, Carl 
Shilton of Marion, Howard Shilton of Texas, Kenneth Shilton of Vermontville, 
and Royal Shilton of Lake Odessa; three sisters, Edith Tucker of Barryton, 
Bertha Smith of Portland, and Pauline Manning of Arizona.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sunfield United Methodist 
Church, with the Rev. Joseph Spackman officiating.  Burial will be in Danby 
Cemetery.  Friends may call at Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel 
Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.  The family will be at the chapel from 2-4 and 
7-9 p.m. Saturday.  A memorial has been established for Sebewa Center United 
Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
