Mrs. Ivah A. Ackerson, 74, of Palo died Thursday night at Lansing General 
hospital.

Born January 30, 1898 in Montcalm county she was the daughter of William and 
Maude Gates.  She was a charter member of Palo Memorial Day association, Palo 
Baptist church and a resident of Palo since 1926.

She was married to Glenn A. Ackerson in 1916 and he died in 1965.

Surviving are two daughters and five sons; 23 granchildren and 11 great 
grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis Gates of Waterloo, Iowa and Wayne Gates of 
VanNuys, Calif.; sister, Mrs. Margaret Gunnell of Lansing.

Funeral services Monday at Palo Baptist church with interment at Palo cemetery.

Arrangements by Stebbins funeral home, Sheridan.
