Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Oct 1931

John D. Ackerson, an early pioneer of Campbell township, died Saturday morning 
at his home in Clarksville.  Funeral services will beheld from the residence at 
2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Bedell.  Burial will be in the Clarksville 
cemetery.

Mr. Ackerson was born in New York September 2, 1850, and came to Michigan with 
his parents when five years of age.  He leaves his widow, Mrs. Ida Ackerson; a 
son by his first wife.  She and three children preceded him in death many years 
ago.  He also leaves four grandchildren.
