Lake Odess Wave
   LEON E. ACKERSON
  LAKE ODESSA -- Leon E. Ackerson 73, died Sunday evening at his home at 770 Fourth
avenue, Lake Odessa, 
following an extended illness.
  He was born March 29, 1896 in Clarksville, the son of Jonas and Florence Bishop
Ackerson.  A World War I 
veteran he was stationed in the states during the war and was a member of Lakeside
Word War 1 barracks.  
He was also affiliated with the Calvary United Brethren church.  After having owned
and operated Associated 
Truck lines out of Lake Odessa, he was employed as custodian at a Grand Rapids high
school.
  January 14, 1945, he was married to Leah Meyers of Batte Creek and she survives,
also a step daughter, 
Mrs. Norman Harris of Lake Odessa;  five grandchildren; a brother, Earl of
Burlington.
  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 pm at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake
Odessa.  Interment will be 
at Lakeside cemetery.
