Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Nov. 5, 1979

Clarksville- Gail H. Ackerson, 72, of Clarksville, died Saturday morning at 
Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born Dec. 5, 1906 in Clarksville, the 
son of Otis and Caplie (McCormick) Ackerson.

Mr. Ackerson graduated from Clarksville High School in 1925. He married Dorothy 
Heintzelman in 1973.

Mr. Ackerson was a lifelong resident and farmer of the Clarksville area and was 
a member of the Penhook Farm Bureau.

Survivors include one son, Maynard of Clarksville; three daughters, Mrs. Paul 
(Barbara) Morrison of Nashville, Mrs. William (Bonnie) Main, Mrs. David (Diane) 
McDiarmid, both of Clarksville; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one 
brother, Carl Ackerson of Detroit, one son, Richard preceded him in death in 
1968.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Home in 
Clarksville with the Rev. Elwood Norton officiating. Burial was in the 
Clarksville cemetery.
