EMMA ACKLES PASSED AWAY TUES. Mrs. Emma Ackles, 72, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday forenoon at her home at 1415 Virginia St.. She had recently returned home from Pennock hospital, She had spent most of her life in the local area and was a native of Sunfield township, Eaton county. Her parents were George and Cora Knapp Scheel. She married Ed Yager April 19, 1907 and they lived on a farm near the Goddard school in Sebewa until his death, June 17, 1933. She married Charles Ackles, January 8, 1938 and they lived in Lansing for seven years, moving to their home on Virginia street in 1945. Survivors are her husband Charles; one son Theo of route 3, Lake Odessa; three daughters Mrs. Robert (Beatrice) Daniels, Mentone Calif., Mrs. Gordon (Margueritte) Lovell of Vermontville and Mrs. Merle (Bernice) Trash Lake Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Esther) Faye of Levering and Mrs. Roy (Elsie) Freemire of Sunfield; two brothers Lawrence Scheel of Bristol, Pa., and Leland School of Wayland; 12 grand children and eight great grand children. Funeral service, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens funeral chapel with burial in the Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Robert Betts officiating.
